Book clasp
Description
English: A copper alloy book clasp, of Post-Medieval date. A sub-rectangular plate with one rounded terminal, which has a projecting joint, which connects to the plate back. The clasp is decorated with an impressed floral motif on the front. The motif appears on the reverse in negative. The artefact is complete apart from a slight break on the hook projecting from the squared end of the clasp. The metal has a dark-brownish green patina.
