Nazi German military hospital personnel in Lublin (collegium Bobolanum) in occupied Poland

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Personnel at the Reserve-Lazarett I Lublin (Kloster), a Nazi German military hospital in Lublin (collegium Bobolanum) in occupied Poland during World War II, between 1940 and 1944. Collegium Bobolanum was a Jesuit theological college.
Reserve hospitals / Location hospitals / Garrison hospitals / Spa hospitals (German: Reserve-Lazarette / Orts-Lazarette / Standort-Lazarette / Kur-Lazarette)
Location Hospitals: Established during peacetime, with the first ones founded or taken over from the imperial army in 1921. These were permanent military facilities, similar to modern Bundeswehr hospitals, varying in bed capacity from 35 (Neustettin) to 400 (Dresden). Some training grounds had their own camp hospitals with a maximum of 76 beds. They served as military medical facilities for eligible soldiers, and Wehrmacht officials and family members could be admitted if space allowed. Additionally, they played a role in the technical training of medical personnel. Larger hospitals were divided into specific medical departments.
Reorganization during Mobilization: During the mobilization phase, location hospitals were reorganized into reserve hospitals. Additional reserve hospitals were established during the war in existing hospitals or suitable spaces in the Reich territory and occupied areas. They had similar functions to the former location hospitals, necessitated by the increased numbers of sick and wounded during the war.
