Description
English: Arms of Blackall of Cowick and of Totnes, both in Devon: Paly of six or and sable on a chief gules three bezants (Vivian, Lt.Col. J.L., (Ed.) The Visitations of the County of Devon: Comprising the Heralds' Visitations of 1531, 1564 & 1620, Exeter, 1895, p.87, pedigree of "Blackall of Totnes"). The mural monument survives in St Mary's Church, Totnes, Devon, to Christopher Blackall (1581-1633) of Hampsted in the parish of Totnes, and his four wives, see File:ChristopherBlackall Died1633 TotnesChurch Devon.jpg. Christopher Blackall (1581-1633) donated 50 books to Totnes Church, many of which were used by John Prince (1643–1723) in writing his Worthies of Devon
