| Description |
English: Big wheel in St Giles St Giles Fair is held on the Monday (and Tuesday) following the first Sunday in September - not the first Monday which some people expect. Here the big wheel has been erected in time for the fair. It is seen from Oxford Castle mound which was erected by the Normans over an earlier Saxon settlement. To the right of the wheel (and a little closer) the roof of the Oxford Playhouse can be seen. |
