English: This is the picture for the year 1874 (actually 1873) in the Lakota winter count of Big Missouri. The four Pawnees, each with a scalp lock, is a symbol for the Lakota victory over the Pawnees on August 5, 1873, in Massacre Canyon, Hitchcock County, Nebraska.
