GiELs Dormitory, No. 1 BIENNIAL REPORT OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES To His Excellency, Locke Craig, Governor of North Carolina. We, tlie Board of Trustees of tlie Caswell Training School for mentaldefectives, to whom you have intrusted the management of this institu-tion, beg to ask your careful consideration of this, our Third BiennialReport of the work and needs of the institution over which we have thehonor to exercise supervision. On December 1, 1914, we had to our credit in the bank $5,742.21, withoutstanding bills to the amount of $3,974. The Legislature appropri-ated $14,000 for a new dormitory, $3,500 for repairs, and $30,000 formaintenance. We were forced to erect an implement and mule shedcombined, a granary, a blacksmith shop, a storage warehouse, a cottagefor the cook, and a residence and barn for the civil engineer. We werecompelled to sink new wells, buy more cattle, mules, and farm equip-ment, as we had turned over to the Superintendent a greater part of thefarm for cultiva
