ll purchases ofmotor vehicle fuel; such records to include copies of all invoices or billsof all such purchases, and shall at all times during the business hoursof the day be subject to inspection by the Secretary of State or his deputies,or such other officers as may be duly authorized by said Secretary of State. Sec. 37. Any dealer, association of persons, firm, or corporation violatingany of the provisions of this act shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, andupon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine not to exceed onehundred dollars ($100), or by imprisonment in the county jail for aperiod not to exceed six months, or both. Sec. 38. If any person, firm, or corporation shall fail to pay the taxon motor vehicle fuel, due by such person, firm, or corporation under theprovisions of this act, within thirty (30) days after such tax shall bedue, the State Treasurer shall bring the appropriate action in the courtsof the State for the recovery of such tax, and if it shall be found as a
