Deutsch: Anläßlich der beim Wiener Kongress 1515 wiederholt festgelegten Doppelhochzeit zwischen den Kindern von König Wladislaw II. von Böhmen und Ungarn, Anna und Ludwig, und der Enkelin Kaiser Maximilians Maria von Habsburg sowie einem seiner beiden Enkel Karl und Ferdinand (Ferdinand I. mit Maria von Ungarn). Das Bild wurde wahrscheinlich 1520 im Auftrag des kaiserlichen Diplomaten Dr. Johannes Cuspinian als Erinnerungsbild des historischen Ereignisses geschaffen. Das Bild des Kaisers war die Innenseite des linken Flügels eines für die Hauskapelle Cuspinians geschaffenen Flügelaltars. Cuspinian interpretierte die Darstellung zur heiligen Sippe um, indem er von Strigel selbst die Rückseite der Tafel (GG 6411) bemalen und durch Hinzufügung eines rechten Flügels (mit einem Familienbildnis Cuspinians als dritten Zweig der hl. Sippe, heute Privatbesitz) zum Diptychon ergänzen ließ; in den 90er Jahren des 16. Jahrhunderts in der kaiserlichen Porträtsammlung in Wien nachweisbar.
