Italiano: "Il dipinto arriva alle Gallerie ma non si conosce la data di acquisizione. Il "Ritratto di gentildonna con un libro" raffigura una gentildonna ripresa per tre quarti della figura e che reca nella mano destra un libro è stata giustamente ricondotto al catalogo del veneziano Bernardino Licinio. Si tratta, infatti, di un'opera tipica del pittore che, seguace di Giorgione e influenzato da Palma il Vecchio e Cariani, si dedicò abbondantemente alla florida attività di ritrattista; evidenti i richiami ad altre opere certe come il Ritratto di gentildonna dell'Accademia Carrara di Bergamo, raffigurata con la stessa ricchezza delle vesti ampie, la medesima acconciatura delle chiome bionde scriminate sulla fronte e raccolte sulla nuca a formare una sorta di raggiera. Si tratta di un' opere probabilmente della piena maturità del pittore, eseguite verso gli esordi del quarto decennio del Cinquecento, quando i suoi modi si arricchiscono cromaticamente" [1]
