Description
Deutsch: Die ehemaligen Wallhöfe in der Wallstraße 23-24 in Berlin-Mitte, erbaut 1905 als Gewerbehof mit Vordergebäude für Geschäfts- und Büroräume, heute Sitz des Hotels "Wallstreet Park Plaza". Entsprechend der zeitgenössischen Berliner Bauordnung passte man Höhe und Struktur des ausgedehnten Komplexes mit zwei Seiten- und einem Querflügel der bestehenden Bausubstanz an: Das fünfstöckige Vorderhaus erhielt eine repräsentative Fassade mit großen Fensterflächen, die Gewerberäume lagen in den Innenhöfen. Das Gebäude ist als Baudenkmal ausgewiesen.
English: The former "Wallhöfe" at Wallstraße No. 23-24 in Berlin-Mitte, built 1905 as small business complex with a front building for stores and offices. It is now seat of the Hotel "Wallstreet Park Plaza". In compliance with contemporary building regulations of Berlin, the height and structure of the large complex with two side wings, a rear wing and two inner yards was brought in line with surrounding residential buildings. Consequentially, the front building received a representative facade with large windows whereas the small businesses were located in the inner yards. The building has been designated as a historic landmark.
