Description
Deutsch: Das Gouverneurshaus, Unter den Linden 11, in Berlin-Mitte. Das Gebäude wurde 1721 nach einem Entwurf von Friedrich Wilhelm Dietrichs und Martin Heinrich Böhme in der Königsstraße 19 (heute Rathausstraße) errichtet. Es wurde 1960 abgerissen und 1962-1964 nach Plänen von Fritz Meinhardt in veränderter Form am heutigen Standort wiedererrichtet. Es wird von der Humboldt-Universität genutzt. Als Bestandteil des Bauensembles Unter den Linden ist es denkmalgeschützt.
English: The Gouverneurshaus (Governor's House), Unter den Linden No. 11, in Berlin-Mitte. It was built in 1721 to a design by Friedrich Wilhelm Dietrichs und Martin Heinrich Böhme at Königsstraße No. 19 (now Rathausstraße). The house was demolished in 1960 and reconstructed (with alterations) from 1962 to 1964 at its present site; the design was by Fritz Meinhardt. The Gouverneurshaus is used by Humboldt University. It is part of the protected historic buildings area Unter den Linden.
