Summary
[edit]DescriptionBerlin, Mitte, Kronenstrasse, Moebelhaus Trunck.jpg |
English: The former Furniture House Trunck & Co. at Kronenstraße No. 10 in Berlin-Mitte, built 1901 to 1902 to a design by the architects Hart & Lesser. The abundance of ornaments on the facade is untypical for commercial buildings in Berlin. The architects mixed elements of Baroque, Rococo, Renaissance and Art Nouveau. In contrast, the room structure follows a functional rationale providing for large storage rooms on the upper floors. The once rich decor of the interior is indicated by the staircase and the representative doors leading to the upper floors. The building has been dedicated a historic landmark. |
