Deutsch: Ehemaliges Geschäftshaus der Berliner Bodengesellschaft in der Charlottenstraße 60, Ecke Mohrenstraße 22-23 (rechts), am Gendarmenmarkt in Berlin-Mitte, heute unter anderem Sitz des Schokoladenhauses Fassbender & Rausch, des größten seiner Art in Europa. Das Gebäude wurde 1907 nach einem Entwurf der Architekten Wilhelm Cremer und Richard Wolffenstein errichtet. Zeittypisch sind die unteren drei Etagen durch Pfeiler zusammengefasst worden. Die Sandsteinfassade besitzt eine neobarocke Ornamentik mit neoklassizistischen Elementen. Eine Inschrift auf der großen Eckkartusche über dem Eingang, auf der eine Merkurskulptur steht, verweist auf den Bauherren. Das Gebäude wurde Ende der 1920er-Jahre um ein Attikageschoss aufgestockt. Nach Kriegsschäden wurde es mit Veränderungen wiederhergestellt. In der DDR-Zeit residierte hier der Allgemeine Deutsche Motorsport-Verband. 1998 erfolgte ein Umbau mit erneuter Aufstockung. Das Gebäude ist als Baudenkmal gelistet. |
