| Description | The Bennett Building at 139 Fulton Street on the corner of Nassau Street (93-99) and with a third facade on Ann Street, in the Financial District of Manhattan, New York City was built in 1872-73 and was designed by Arthur D. Gilman. A mansard roof was removed in 1890-92 by James M. Farnsworth, who also designed the extension to Ann Street in 1894. The building is named after James Gordon Bennett Jr., the publisher of the New York Herald. (Source: AIA Guide to NYC (5th ed.)) |
