Summary[edit]

Description
English: Flag for the City of Bellingham, Washington. Designed by Bradley James Lockhart for the Downtown Bellingham Partnership. Unveiled March 25th, 2016.
The blue half-circle on the left represents Bellingham Bay, which unites the four green stripes on the right, representing the four original towns of Bellingham: Whatcom, Sehome, Bellingham, and Fairhaven. Two stars on the top and bottom of the blue half-circle represent the two local coastal Salish tribes: Lummi and Nooksack. Wavy lines in the middle are for a Nooksack translation of Whatcom as "noisy waters". When the flag is flown vertically, the lines also represent Whatcom Falls.
