It is placed on atruck and the auger is raised and low-ered by the truck winch line and der-rick. Under favorable soil condi-tions, the new digger can bore holesas large as 16 inches in diameter to adepth of nine feet. Due to its light-ness and flexibility of operating posi-tions, it can be used on light-weightconstruction trucks instead of theheavy-duty trucks required with theolder types. Buried wire may be used in placeof open wire where soil conditionsare favorable and only one or twopairs will be required.
