Computers are creating a revolution inthe art and science of business manage-ment. Theodore L. Simis, who heads theSeminar program, adds: Perhaps noother industry or institution in the U.S.has been or will be as deeply afYected bythe computer revolution as the Bell Sys-tem. One reason is the increasing use ofcomputer and information systems byour customers and their needs for movingdata over our network. Another is thegrowth and change taking place in ourown business. To continue to progress,we have to keep up with the times. Con-sequently, it behooves us to carefullystudy and evaluate computerized systemsand work into our corporate planningthose things which are significant. Top: conferees hear about data switching,an important part of computerized systems. Center: by guided discovery they learn toprepare flow charts for computer program. Below: in nearby laboratories of the Bell Sys-tems Data Communications Training Pro-gram they check high-speed printout machine.
