Mr. Romnes re-turned to AT&T as vice chairman ofthe board in 1964 and a year later waselected president. lohn D. deButts Mr. Romnes is also a director ofPacific Telephone and TelegraphCompany, Chemical Bank New YorkTrust Company, the Goodyear Tire andRubber Company, United States SteelCorporation, National Safety Council,American Cancer Society, and theDowntown-Lower Manhattan Asso-ciation.
