Erklärung der Tafel.
Fig. 1. Amathia biseriata n. sp.

a) In natürlicher Grösse. Wurzelartiges Röhrengeflechte ; Stamm, Anfang der Aeste und ein ganzer Zweig.
b) Ein Zweig durch die einfache Linse gesehen.
c) Stark vergrössert. Man sieht die bogenförmigen Glieder, die doppelte Reihe der Röhren und die Eyer in einigen derselben , auch oben die sprossenden Anfange zweier neuen Glieder.

a) In natürlicher Grösse. Wurzelartiges Röhrengeflecht, Stamm, Anfang der Aeste und ein ganzer Zweig.
b) Schwach vergrösserter Zweig.
c) Unter starker Vergrösserung von Vornen gesehen, wodurch die doppelte Zellenreihe, die Zähne am äusseren Rand derselben, und ihre länglich runde Mündung sichtbar wird.

a) Ein kleineres Exemplar in natürlicher Grösse.
b) Der obere Theil eines Zweiges schwach vergrössert.
c) Fünf Zellen des vollständigen Pflanzenthiers stärker vergrössert, wodurch die drei Oeffnungen jeder derselben ins Auge fallen.
d) Fünf Zellen des Skelettes, welches den Kalk verloren hat, als leer zurückgebliebene Stellen der Zellen. Am linken Rande sind Zähne und ein Faden sichtbar, an dem der Randnerve befestigt war.
