Bruno Kabus. Neue Untersuchungen über Regenerationsvorgänge bei Pflanzen. 6 gefüllten Teller, auf dessen Rand ich eine Glocke stellte. Das Ganze stand auf einem Regal im Laboratorium bei einer täglichen Durch- scbnittstemperatur von + 18° C. Bei ungefähr 160 Versuchen habe ich folgendes beobachtet: Die ersten Knollen untersuchte ich 10 Tage nach der Operation. Die Rasiermesserschnitte wurden in Sudan-Glyzerin gekocht und unter der Wasserleitung abgespült. Durch dieses Reagenz erschienen alle verkorkten Gewebepartieen rot. Die Färbung fand sich zvs^ischen dem Knollenperiderm und Gefäßbündel ohne Unterbrechung, aber sie war auch, wenn auch nur auf einzelne Stellen beschränkt, zwischen Gefäß- bündel und Mark nachweisbar, ohne daß die Wundflächen verwachsen waren. Und untersuchte ich noch später, manchmal erst nach 20, ja nach 37 Tagen, so war, weijn die Knollen nicht zusammengewachsen waren, die ganze Wundfläche ohne Unterbrechung verkorkt. Bei verwachsenen Kartoffeln dagegen trat der Kork stets nur lokal auf. An mehreren Präparaten von verwachsenen Kartoffeln konnte ich konstatieren, daß der Wundkork allein durch das Hinzutreten der Luft bedingt wurde. Ich sah nämlich um eine größere, inhaltsleere Lücke herum ein von beiden Knollenhälften gebildetes, lückenlos an- einander schließendes Korkgewebe, während auf beiden Seiten dieser Korkinsel die Gewebe der Kartoffeln ineinander übergingen.
