Summary[edit]
DescriptionBefore-and-after image comparison of a retouche on an image of a broken Poljot Buran chronograph watch.jpg |
English: On the left a not very well photographed picture (by me...) of a Poljot Buran chronograph watch from Russia, from about 1990. It has the 3133 caliber often named "Valjoux". The right image is a strongly reworked version of the original using the software programs GIMP and IrfanView, during which the watch was also virtually "repaired", as two clock hands are loose in the original image (and in reality). For the detailed works carried out, see other info box below this one. |

This is a retouched picture, which means that it has been digitally altered from its original version. Modifications: Took one of the two small hands from the subdials which float around on the clockface in ori image, doubled it and mounted the two hands in place where they belong on the subdials; removed elipsoidal distortion in ori image; removed grayish background; replaced the upper and lower mounts for the watch strap from a second own photo of this watch because of better perspective; same with watch crown and chronograph pushers; adjusted colours of ori image by gamma and contrast change; cleaned clockface with the "clone tool" function in GIMP from lttle scratches and dust. The original can be viewed here: Defect watch Poljot Buran chronograph with two loose small clock hands.jpg: . Modifications made by Pittigrilli.
