Title
Bead : Uncertain
Description
English: A complete but worn glass bead of uncertain date. It is sub-spherical with a single central, ovate perforation, is opaque and dark blue in colour.

The dating of glass beads found out of context is difficult. The reasons for this include that the method of manufacture has changed very little over time and also that when beads are plain, as in this case, there is little indication of date given by the object itself. The date is therefore uncertain with a range from late Iron Age to Modern having been suggested for similar types of glass bead.

A number of similar beads can be found on the database, unique ID: SWYOR-92DC26 and DUR-613AC7.

Internal diameter 3.66mm.
