Title
English: Bayview Brewery with horsedrawn wagon of beer, ca. 1900
Description
English:

The Seattle Brewing & Malting Company was founded in 1878 and built its large new Bayview Brewery on Ninth Avenue South in 1890. When Washington State's prohibition laws closed down alcohol production in 1916, this was the state's largest brewery, and the sixth largest in the world. Rainier Beer was the firm's premium brand. This photo, taken around 1900, shows a group of brewery workers and a horse-drawn wagon in front of the Seattle Brewing & Malting Company's Bayview Brewery buildings. Some of these buildings are still in use by the Rainier Brewing Company and can be seen from Interstate 5, just south of downtown Seattle.

Original photograph: ca. 1900. Made into postcard by Rainier Brewing Company.
