Bahasa Indonesia: Batik Madura adalah batik khas Pulau Madura yang memiliki beragam motif dan corak yang unik. Motifnya dibuat secara tradisional dan menggunakan pewarna alami serta diwariskan secara turun-temurun. Batik Madura pertama kali diperkenalkan pada masa Kerajaan Pamekasan di Pamelingan pada abad ke-16 hingga ke-17 Masehi oleh pangeran Ronggosukowati di Keraton Mandilaras. Wilayah pembuatan Batik Madura berpusat berpusat di Bangkalan, Pamekasan, dan Sumenep.
Inti dari membuat batik, yaitu menciptakan ragam hias pada kain dengan metode merintang warna. Caranya adalah membuat gambar pada kain dengan zat yang tidak tembus cairan pencelup warna. Setelah itu, zat perintang warnanya dirontokkan agar motifnya tampak. Batik Madura bukan hanya memiliki keindahan, tapi juga cerminan watak Madura. Keberanian dan ketegasan orang Madura memunculkan warna-warna berani. Berevolusi lewat adukan beragam budaya, batik madura adalah cermin karakter dinamis, egalitarian, kesukaan untuk serba praktis, sekaligus keinginan meluap-luap untuk “eksis” dengan tampil berbeda. |
