| Description |
English: Barnsley Canal - Detail 2 The surface of much of this section of the canal is covered by a green algae. The level of the canal had been raised the previous day by heavy rainfall by about eighteen inches (judging by the level to which algae had been left up the banks). After the water receded everything beneath the higher water level was left with a green covering. |
