| Description |
English: Barcombe Mills Road Linking the A26 to the village of Barcombe Cross. The old course of the road turned right over Pikes Bridge but was replaced in 1944 by a newer road and a stronger bridge over the Ouse to cater for traffic in the build up to D-Day. The marker next to the road is for the times when the land around here is flooded giving an indicator to the motorist whether to drive through or go on a ten mile detour. |
