| Description |
On the approach to Barcelona Airport from the East you get good views of the city. In the foreground is the port where freighters and ferries ply their trade. It's also a very popular Cruise port. The city stretches behind, slowly rising to the hill of Tibidabo where, at the very top, is a funfare and large church. Just to the left of that is a striking communications tower, designed by British architect Sir Norman (now Lord) Foster. Lastly, a little indistinct behind the tower in the mountain of Montserrat which has a strong religious attraction. There's a monastery and a basilica that holds a "Black Madonna" which is an important religious relic. The photo was taken with a 45 year old manual focus Nikkor ai lens which to this day is still a very sharp lens.
