For the past 2~3 years, we've been averaging heading out to the mountains every other week. This year happens to be Canada's big 150th birthday and you can get a free National Park Pass in celebration. The missus is doing a series of her travel buddy Mr. Takoyaki enjoying our awesome National Parks. So, my current cell phone testing has revolved quite a bit around the national parks as well.

This shot represents what most people should see for maximum dynamic range. For the most part, unless you're shooting a window scene, the furthest highlights and shadows should be are presented by scenes partially lit by sunlight and partially in the shade. I would say it did pretty well and it even retained a nice blue sky. Previously, I remember cell phones and even point-and-shoot cameras completely blowing out the sky turning it into a white mess.
