Hand-Turned Balustrade of the staircase in the Main Entry Foyer of the Southgate-Lewis House.

Summary[edit]

Description
English: The hand-turned balustrade in the main entry foyer of the Southgate-Lewis is said to be: "one of the finest staircases in all of Austin." There is no doubt that it is a finely crafted beautiful work of art. Remarkably, more than one century after it was constructed, it stout, firm, and strong. R.C. Lambie was well known for his finely woodwork and this is perhaps one of his best examples.
