McCafTerty, roundhouse foreman, hasmoved his family from Dayton to Toledo.Mac says he was growing alarmingly thinon restaurant fare, but that he is now pickingup. Wade Finley, roundhouse clerk, who has beenseriously ill since last December, is reported tobe better. His many friends are hoping for aspeedy recovery. E. W, Hoffman, assistant superintendent,recently visited his old home at Indianapolis. J. F. Holzer, boiler foreman atRossford, has re-turned from a visitto his home at VanWert, Ohio. Track improve-ments at Rossfordare progressingnicely. When workis finished, therewill be room for 140cars on the repairtracks and 450additional cars inthe classificationyards. In order to keeptrespassers offCompany propertj,a high board fence,inclosing the round-house and shop atRossford, has beenconstructed. C. H. CURIC£lTy 5,4«is^i^^ of the improvements at Toledo, hails from PalmBeach, Florida. He hasnt shown any signs ofquailing before the chilling blasts from MaumeeBay, but he admits that he notices that someof the days up here are a trifle cool. Henry V. Hoffman, former chief dispatcher,died at his home in Dayton, on January 31.Apoplexy was the cause of death. Mr. Hoffmanwas first stricken in December, 1913, while athis desk, but after several months rest was ableto resume duty as Book of Rules examiner andcontinued in the service until December 21,when he suffered another stroke, which resultedin his death. The funeral services were heldon the evening of February 2, from the familyresidence. Reverend Burkhardt, pastor of theCentral Church of Christ, officiated. Interment was in Crown Hill cemetery,Indianapolis, Ind., on February 3. TheKnights of Pythias were in charge ofthe funeral.Mr. Hoffman was born in Indianapolis, Ind.,on June 25, 1860.
