Summary[edit]

Description
English: Three or two days before Nyepi, Balinese Hindus perform the purification ceremony called Melasti or Melis / Mekiyis. On that day, all the means of worship that is in Pura (shrine) parade to the beach or lake, because the sea or lake is the source of holy water (Tirta Amrita) and can purify all leteh (gross) in man and nature.
