Summary[edit]

Description
Deutsch: Bagdad-Bahn, "Münster 4827", 13. April 1917. There was a section of the Baghdadbahn in the Taurus Mountains which was extremely difficult to build, with several tunnels whose construction caused delays. To speed up construction, the enginners decided to lay 600 mm gauge track through the unfinished section to allow construction on the section onward to proceed. This also included locomotives and rolling stock, which were moved across the section in a semi-dismantled state on transporter wagons. The photo depicts one such move, with the locomotive being moved in pieces.
