Summary[edit]

Description
English: Ribbon schematic of the BPTI (basic pancreatic trypsin inhibitor) protein structure. Beta strands are in green, helices in gold, loops in white, and the 3 disulfide-bond crosslinks that stabilize it in yellow. The lysine that binds tightly to the active site of the trypsin digestive enzyme to inhibit it extends from the loop at the top. From PDB file 1BPI, visualized in Mage and rendered by Raster3D.
