| Description |
English: BOC plant, Scunthorpe Seen from Winterton Road, this is BOC's Warren Road industrial gas production centre. Its main air separation unit is capable of extracting 1,700 tonnes of oxygen, nitrogen and argon per day from the air. It was established in 1959, primarily to supply industrial gases by pipeline to British Steel (now Corus) - a role which it still performs. It has expanded activities on the 13 hectare site and is now part of the company's nationwide production and distribution network. The site also stores liquid oxygen, nitrogen and argon, which it supplies to a variety of industries via road tanker. |
