Wieliczka, vue des travaux souterrains dans les mines de sel
Description
Français : La découverte au 13e siècle de gisement de sel gemme souterrain à Wieliczka (près de Cracovie) fut une révolution. Après la période de l’exploitation des sources salées elle permit d’obtenir le sel par des méthodes minières. Au 14e-15e siècle, 300 à 350 personnes travaillaient à Wieliczka et la production annuelle de sel représentaient jusqu’à 1/3 des revenus du trésor royal. Au fil des siècles la mine se développa de manière très dynamique, pour atteindre au début du 20e siècle la profondeur de 327 m, et 300 km de galeries. Aujourd’hui, elle reste un monument historique unique au monde, inscrit au patrimoine mondial de l’UNESCO. C’est un lieu touristique depuis le 19e siècle. pour l’aspect technique et artistique. De nombreuses statues, sculptures ainsi qu’une chapelle sont entièrement creusées dans le sel.- Bibliothèque municipale de Lyon, mis en ligne sur Numelyo
