Description

Stamp of Belgium; 1977; souvenir sheet (block) with 3 commemorative stamps to the "International Rubens Year, 1977 - on occasion of the 400th anniversary of birth of Peter Paul Rubens (1577-1642); souvenir sheet with 3 stamps Michel No. 1913 (inscription = "1977 (12)"...!) ; stamp motive with a self-portrait of Rubens; The painting was created in the style of the Flemish baroque between 1628 and 1630 after an older template with his son Albert and is actual located in the "Rubenshuis Museum" in Antwerp (Flanders, Belgium).
Note:
Peter Paul Rubens has painted only 4 self-portraits from hisself in the time of his life. The portrait on the stamp is one from these. There exist several copies from this painting.
