Stamp of Belgium; 1976; commemorative surcharge stamp of the issue "400th anniversary of birth of Peter Paul Rubens"; stamp motive with a detail from the painting "Our Lady with the Saints" (original title: "Maria omringd door heiligen") by Peter Paul Rubens (1577-1640); The original painting was painted and detemined by Rubens hisself as altar picture for his funerary chapel ("Sint Jacobskerk") in Antwerp. The painting over the altar is a painting of the Madonna in the tradition of the Italian "Sacra Conversazione".; This painting was created between 1638 and 1640 in the style of the Flemish baroque and is actual located in the "Saint Jacob's Church" (= "St. James Church"...?) in Antwerp (Belgium) at the tomb of Peter Paul Rubens.; mint stamp
