Bahasa Indonesia: Begasing merupakan permainan yang dilakukan menggunakan alat berupa gasing dan tali penarik. Gasing merupakan sebongkah kayu berbentuk lonjong (simetris radial) dengan diameter sekitar 10-15 centimeter. Tinggi sebuah gasing adalah sekitar 15-20 centimeter dengan salah satu ujung dibuat lancip dan memiliki permukaan yang licin. Pada ujungnya, dipasang bahan logam sebagai poros putaran – biasanya menggunakan paku. Jenis kayu yang biasa digunakan antara lain kayu benggaris dan ulin.
Sementara, tali penarik yang digunakan berdiameter sekitar 0,5 centimeter dengan panjang 1-1,5 meter. Tali ini dililitkan ke gasing dengan bagian ujung tali dikaitkan ke jari sang pemain. Gasing kemudian dilemparkan ke bawah seperti membanting sesuatu sehingga tali yang melilitnya membuat gasing tersebut berputar. Sebuah gasing dapat berputar sekitar 2-5 menit. Area permainan yang digunakan berupa dua buah lingkaran. Lingkaran dalam berdiameter 1 meter sementara lingkaran luar berdiameter 5 meter. Setiap lingkaran memiliki nilai yang berbeda. Begasing dilombakan secara berpasangan atau satu-lawan-satu. Kedua pemain harus berusaha agar gasingnya berputar selama mungkin dan tetap berada di area permainan. Dalam beberapa babak, para pemain gasing secara bergantian akan berusaha menjatuhkan gasing milik lawan. Gasing yang terlempar keluar dari area permainan atau lebih dulu berhenti berputar dinyatakan kalah. Poin akan diberikan pada pemain yang berhasil mengeluarkan gasing lawan atau gasingnya mampu berputar paling lama.English: Begasing is a game that is performed using a tool in the form of a top and pulling rope. The inner circle is 1 meter in diameter while the outer circle is 5 meters in diameter. Each circle has a different value. Begasing is contested in pairs or one-on-one. Both players must try to keep the top as long as possible and stay in the game area. In several rounds, the top players will alternately try to drop the opponent's top. Gasing that is thrown out of the game area or first stops spinning is lost. Points will be given to players who have managed to top their opponents or the top can spin the longest. |
