Note:
The name of the US-American "Syncom" satellites means "Synchronous Communications Satellite" and goes back to the first satellites of this series which were tested in geosynchronous and geostationary orbits of the earth from 1963 onwards. Later, in the 1980s and 1990s, were these satellites part of the military "Leasat"-program of the NASA.
