SIEDEHAUS Pfanne V Salinetechnische Anlagen

The BOILING HOUSE pan V Saltworks equipment

The boiling house with pan V was the only building with a free-standing chimney and was built in 1885/86 in the proven half-timbered construction method. The entire boiling process took place in a so-called boiling pan. It is made of sheet iron and is the only remaining flat pan preserved here. During the boiling process, the brine becomes completely saturated and then leads to the precipitation of the salt. The wet salt was pulled to the walls of the pan with long crutches and thrown onto the "pan roof" with shovels. Salt drying then took place on the kiln (heated channels with a sheet metal cover to hold the salt).

Extensive restoration work began here in 1977 in order to preserve this material testimony to the history of technology for posterity.
