Description

Le vray Pourtraict de la Ville d'Avignon
A woodcut print showing the town of Avignon by François de Belleforest from Volume 1 of La Cosmographie Universelle de tout le monde which was published in Paris in 1575 by both Michel Sonnius and by Nicholas Chesneau.

La Cosmographie Universelle de tout le monde is a greatly expanded French version of Sebastian Münster's Cosmographia from 1544.
