Summary[edit]

Description
English: This image shows a graph of average global temperature anomalies by decade between the 1850s and the 2000s, estimated by the Hadley Centre. Anomalies are shown as the difference from the 1961 – 1990 average. Vertical lines indicate the upper and lower 95% uncertainty ranges for each decade.

The graph shows that anomalies by decade have varied over time, with the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s warmer than the 1961-1990 average. The 1850s and all the decades up to the 1970s were cooler than the 1961-1990 average. The warmest decade was the 2000s, followed by the 1990s, then the 1980s.
