English: Portrait of Empress Elisabeth Christine (1691-1750)
Français : (Autriche - Charles VI) - [Paire]. Charles VI et son épouse Élisabeth Christine, beaux-parents de Charles de Lorraine. Sous passe-partout de bois cernant l'ovale du cuivre, sous cadre de bois noir et or. Bustes de 3/4, tous deux représentés assez jeune. Charles porte le Collier de la Toison d'or et Élisabeth Christine une robe rouge parée de diamants. Charles III de Habsbourg (Vienne 1685-1740) devint empereur des Romains sous le nom de Charles VI. Le 1er août 1708, il épousa Élisabeth Christine de Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel (1691-1750), protestante qui se convertira par raison d'état. Ils eurent 4 enfants dont la future impératrice Marie-Thérèse (1717-1780) et Marie-Anne (1718-1744) qui épousa Charles de Lorraine.
