Summary[edit]

Description

Aureoboletus auriporus (Peck) Pouzar

Image location: Bearpen Mountain, Pisgah National Forest, North Carolina, USA

Why or why not? How does one distinguish classic auriporus (which Lord knows Walt can identify!) from the newly branched off Pulveroboletus atkinsonianus (which he would not have been considering in 2014)?

Recognized by sight
