Description
For some reason the experts at Bruun Rasmussen chose the title Rakkerens tårn i Nürnberg. The title means The executioners tower, or in German Henkerturm. There is such a tower in Nuremberg, but it is just to the right - on the other end of the bridge - of the Wasserturm shown on the painting. Fischer made a very similar, but smaller, painting from the same spot in 1913. And in 1911 he actually painted the Henkerturm.
