The OST forced labor badge was worn by Ostarbeiter, mainly Russians or Ukrainians, deported to Nazi Germany during WWII to support the war effort. Millions were sent to work in factories and were housed in camps with SS guards. After the war, many faced discrimination and accusations of treason upon returning to the Soviet Union. The patch was stitched onto the chest, displaying its outer white border.
