Description
Nederlands: Deze kaart van Oost-Friesland van de hand van Ubbo Emmius (1547-1625) werd oorspronkelijk in 1630 gepubliceerd in een atlas van Willem Jansz. Blaeu (1571-1638). Na vele

omzwervingen kwam de koperplaat in het bezit van de Amsterdamse uitgevers Peter Schenk (1660-1711) en Gerard Valck (ca. 1650-1726). Zij verzorgden deze editie van de

kaart. Op de kaart is het gebied ingekleurd dat op 25 december 1717 tijdens de zogenaamde Kerstvloed werd overstroomd.
English: This map of Ost-Friesland was created by Ubbo Emmius (1547-1625) but was originally published in an atlas by Willem Jansz. Blaeu (1571-1638) in 1630. After some time the

copper plate ended up in the hands of the Amsterdam publishers Peter Schenk (1660-1711) and Gerard Valck (c. 1650-1726). They published this edition of the map. The

area which was flooded on 25 December 1717 during the so-called Christmas flooding was coloured.
