Transcription: Where plays of Aeschylus, Sophocles, Euripides, Aristophanes were first given. Auditorium completed B.C. 340. Seats of stone for 30,000 persons. Open to the sky. Surrounded by altars, sanctuaries, colonnades of which the Stoa Eumenia was 534 ft long.
