English: Astwith Lane. This westerly facing photograph is of the junction of Astwith Lane (ahead) with the 596472.
From this viewpoint Stanley is to the left (southerly) and Stainsby is to the right (northerly). Ahead the lane rises toward the trees and then dips down to cross the Astwith Dumbles¹. For a more westerly (ahead) view of the lane, click here 596453. ¹ Dumbles is a local word meaning a small valley. |
