English: Astwith Dumbles. This easterly facing photograph shows Astwith Lane as it passes through the Astwith Dumbles¹.
In the springtime the woodland floor is covered with bluebells. Just ahead, in the valley bottom the lane crosses a small stream that runs through the 603582. For a more easterly (ahead) photograph of the lane, click here 596453. For a more westerly (behind the photograph) photograph of the lane, click here 596433. See also this photograph by Alan Heardman, which was taken from a few metres ahead but is facing back toward this viewpoint, 601898. ¹ Dumbles is a local word meaning a small valley. |
